As the Netgear Nighthawk CM1100 cable modem support only wired connection so you have only one way to login to modem settings through wired connections.
CM1100 compatible with all leading internet providers so login IP address, username, and password may different for each Internet provider. You can also find the login credential for the Netgear CM1100 modem to sticker available on the bottom side.
CM1100 Defualt Login IP address– 192.168.100.1
Default username– admin
Login default password– password
If these login settings do not work with your CM1100 modem please refer to the modem sticker to get login settings.
To log in to modem settings from the browser, you need to connect the PC using a LAN cable from the Modem Ethernet port.
Use a standard LAN cable and plug to modem LAN port and other side connect to PC/laptop whatever you using for access Modem settings.
Open a Web browser and access http://192.168.100.1 and wait to load the login page.
Provider “admin” as username and “password” for a password for the first-time login to the modem.
After login into the modem control panel, you can enable the MAC access list, enable parental control, or content filtering feature to add an extra security layer to your home internet connections.
Apart from login and configuration if you facing any connectivity or internet un-stability issue or Login IP address not working for the CM1100 cable modem then to fix all types of issues just make the modem reset and activate again.
Docsis modem preconfigured with default login username and password so always change login password before using to live network.
After login into the modem, you will land on the home page.
Go to Advanced- Administration- set password
Old Password- admin
New Password- create new login password
Confirm New password- provide the new password again to confirm
Apply and save settings and keep remember your login password or avoid to right on the modem sticker.
There is a small reset failsafe button available on the cable modem to restore settings into default mode incase you forget login username or password or login password may not working or any other issue.
Before making it reset make sure you have internet settings or configuration backup to make the modem working again.
After making the modem to factory default will erase all configuration and the router will restore t default settings configuration pre-configured for the first time. Follow the above steps to activate the internet connection again.
